This is a beautiful naturally processed coffee from the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia, the home of coffee. Natural process means the that the coffee beans are dried while still in the coffee cherry which imparts lots of fruity flavours into the bean. In this coffee you'll find loads of strawberry, cherry, raspberry and red grape.

If you're looking for some interesting flavours or perhaps looking to try something new, natural process coffees are a good place to start as you get lots of red fruitiness without some of the acidity that you can find in some lighter roasted coffees.

This coffee comes from farms owned by Tariku Mengesha in the South of the Yirgacheffe region. Almost all coffee produced in Ethiopia is organic as farmers do not have access to any fertilisers or chemicals and instead use traditional methods to protect their crops and land. Tariku applies natural methods to keep weeds and pests away from his plants and grows pulse crops among the coffee bushes to maintain the fertility of the soil.

After harvesting, the cherries are soaked in water and any floating, unripe ones, are removed. The ripe cherries are then dried on raised beds of 28 days.
